BEIJING: Emergency rescue workers were dispatched to a rural area in Guangxi, southern China, on Sunday following a tragic accident where a pickup truck carrying 15 people plunged into a flooded river the night before, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
Authorities have confirmed that at least one person has died, and efforts are ongoing to locate nine others who are still missing.
The situation comes as southern China faces heavy rainfall, raising concerns about potential flooding, as highlighted by the ministry of emergency management during discussions with provincial officials on Sunday.
