Meta, the tech company led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is set to reduce its workforce by 10%. This decision means around 8,000 employees will be affected, along with the closure of 6,000 job openings.

In a memo to employees, Janelle Gale, Meta’s chief people officer, explained the reasoning behind this move. She emphasized that these changes are part of the company’s ongoing effort to operate more efficiently and balance its investments, particularly in artificial intelligence.

Gale acknowledged the difficulty of this decision, noting that it results in losing valuable team members who have significantly contributed to Meta.

Stay tuned for more updates on this situation.
