CSK Dedicates Big Win to Mukesh Choudhary Following Personal Loss

In a touching moment during the IPL 2026 match, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) paid tribute to their bowler Mukesh Choudhary, who played just days after losing his mother. On April 23, CSK achieved a major victory against Mumbai Indians (MI), winning by an impressive 103 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Choudhary made his season debut, and in a show of support, the team wore black armbands to honor his mother’s memory.

After the match, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed admiration for Mukesh’s bravery, noting how challenging it was for him to return to the field under such circumstances. Gaikwad highlighted the team’s solidarity, saying everyone wanted to support Mukesh during this tough time.

“Mukesh’s effort was commendable. Coming back in such a situation is mentally hard. He returned to support the team because he knew we needed him. All credit to him,” Gaikwad stated in the post-match interview.

Choudhary’s bowling performance was solid; he achieved figures of 1 wicket for 31 runs off 4 overs, taking the important wicket of Quinton de Kock, who had recently made a century.

CSK on the Rise After Rough Start

After struggling with three consecutive losses, CSK is now gaining momentum. The team eyeing a place in the top four performed strongly against MI, with standout performances from players like Sanju Samson, who scored a century, and Akeal Hosein, who claimed four wickets.

Following this win, CSK climbed to fifth place in the standings with six points, having secured three victories out of seven matches. The team aims to maintain this positive trajectory when they face the Gujarat Titans on April 26 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Stay tuned for more updates as the IPL season unfolds!
