Arshdeep also spoke about how a simple conversation with cricket legend Ricky Ponting helped him find his rhythm during the IPL 2026 season. He delivered a remarkable performance, taking three wickets for just 22 runs, helping to restrict the Mumbai Indians to 195 runs. The Punjab Kings won the match by seven wickets, climbing to the top of the standings.
After the game, Arshdeep revealed that he discussed his recent struggles with Ponting. “I told him that the ball wasn’t coming out right for me. He gave me a clear mindset to help,” Arshdeep explained. He noted that there was no technical advice, but rather a focus on keeping his mental game strong.
“Ricky reminded me to stick to my basics. He noted that coming off a high from winning the World Cup can be challenging. His advice helped me clear my head,” Arshdeep added.
Looking ahead, the Punjab Kings are set to face off against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, April 19, at New Chandigarh.
