Vinod Kambli’s Health Journey: Friends Rally Support

Vinod Kambli is facing serious health challenges, but there are signs of improvement. While his recovery is still ongoing, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has entered a WhatsApp group created by friends to provide both financial and emotional support.

Marcus Couto, a close friend of Kambli, started this WhatsApp group, which includes former cricketers and others who care about Kambli. “I created this group to help him, and many friends are contributing financially,” Couto explained.

Kambli’s memory is not very reliable; however, it hasn’t gotten any worse over the last six months. He struggles to recall things, but sometimes, memories do come back.

Medical professionals have warned that Kambli’s condition is fragile. While he shows slow improvement in his mobility, there are concerns about the potential for complications. “He has stopped drinking alcohol, but sometimes he still asks strangers for a cigarette,” Couto shared. “They think they are helping him, but they don’t realize it’s harmful.”

On a positive note, Kambli is walking better and has even started to engage in light professional work, including shooting an advertisement. He spends most of his time with family at home but occasionally visits care centers in Thane for help and regular medical check-ups.

Kambli’s Health Background

Kambli’s health struggles have been ongoing for several years. He faced a serious urinary infection last year that required hospitalization, and doctors have since discovered a blood clot in his brain. Due to delays in treatment, this clot cannot be removed and poses a risk for a brain stroke.

While his physical health is gradually improving, memory issues continue to affect his daily life, including his ability to manage medication and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Support from the cricket community remains strong, with legends like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar also stepping in to assist Kambli. Right now, the main focus is on his recovery, with family and friends playing a vital role in his journey towards better health.
