Jaishankar Meets UAE Officials Amid Regional Concerns
Abu Dhabi, UAE – April 12, 2026 (ANI): As tensions in West Asia continue to escalate, India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, engaged in crucial discussions with the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During his visit, Jaishankar expressed gratitude to Al Nahyan for prioritizing the safety of the Indian community residing in the UAE. In a post shared on social media platform X, he stated, “It was a pleasure to meet with DPM & FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan this evening. We discussed the changing dynamics in the region and their impacts. I conveyed our deep appreciation for ensuring the well-being of Indians in the UAE. I am confident that our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to flourish.”
Earlier that day, Jaishankar also took the time to connect with members of the Indian community, recognizing the Indian government’s efforts to secure their welfare amidst ongoing conflicts in the region. He noted their significant contributions to local society, especially during challenging times, and thanked the UAE government for its support in ensuring their safety.
In a proactive move, the Indian Embassy also organized a Consular Camp at the Indian Social Centre in Al Ain, making essential services more accessible to Indian nationals in the area.
Additionally, Jaishankar and Al Nahyan reviewed recent developments in the region, including a newly announced two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. They both highlighted the crucial role of international cooperation in achieving lasting peace and security in West Asia, as per reports from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
