Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away at 92
In a sorrowful turn of events, the celebrated Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai. Her remarkable voice left an indelible mark on Hindi cinema for more than eight decades.
Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the sad news, stating, “She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her home tomorrow at 11 am.”
The beloved singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital over the weekend due to severe exhaustion and a chest infection. The hospital later reported that she succumbed to multi-organ failure.
In a heartfelt message, her family announced that her funeral will take place on Monday. They stated, “Om Shanti. You will live forever, Asha Bhosle Ji. The final rites will be held at her residence from 10 am to 2 pm, followed by the cremation at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.”
Her passing has cast a shadow over the Indian entertainment industry, prompting an outpouring of grief and condolences from fans and fellow artists alike on social media.
Asha Bhosle, often regarded as one of India’s most iconic voices, recorded more than 12,000 songs throughout her glorious career that spanned over seven decades.
