TEL AVIV: Israeli emergency services reported that five individuals were hurt on Saturday in Tel Aviv and nearby areas when Iran launched a series of missiles towards Israel.
The Israeli military indicated that since midnight, they had detected seven waves of missiles coming from Iran.
Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency service, confirmed that a 45-year-old man suffered minor injuries from glass shards in Bnei Brak and was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
As the day continued, rescue teams treated three additional victims—two young men in their 20s who were hurt by glass and one person injured by the force of an explosion. They also reported that a 52-year-old man sustained light injuries from a blast wave and was taken to a hospital in Ramat Gan, located in central Israel.
Images from the scene showed significant damage in a residential area of Ramat Gan, where the top floor of a house was completely destroyed, revealing its insides. Among the wreckage, a toppled bookcase and an exercise bike were visible. The walls around showed numerous impact marks.
Joy Frankel, a social worker who was present near one of the affected areas, commented, “All this is from shrapnel.”
Reports from local media, including The Times of Israel, indicated that one of the missiles, identified as a cluster munition, landed close to the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv, near the defense ministry.
The military stated that their air defense systems were actively intercepting missiles as they were fired from Iran.
Since February 28, the United States and Israel have been conducting joint military operations against Iran, which has resulted in a series of missile attacks from Iran targeting Israel and several neighboring countries in the region.
