Riyadh: On March 21, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized outreach camps in several cities, including Dammam, Jubail, and Hail. These camps were set up to provide consular and attestation services to the Indian community living in the region.

In a post shared on social media, the embassy noted that they were successfully addressing various consular issues faced by Indian nationals attending these camps.

Meanwhile, on March 20, the Ministry of External Affairs expressed heartfelt condolences following the death of an Indian national in Riyadh. This tragic event occurred amid rising tensions in the region, with the embassy confirming the incident after reports surfaced about security issues in the Saudi capital on March 18.

An official statement from the embassy expressed sadness over the loss and assured that they are in contact with the family of the deceased, working closely with local authorities to facilitate repatriation.

“A tragic incident involving an Indian national was reported to us late last night,” said Aseem Mahajan, the Additional Secretary in the Gulf Division, while addressing a briefing in New Delhi. He conveyed condolences to the family and emphasized the embassy’s commitment to providing support.

The embassy has pledged to assist the family through necessary procedures and reiterated their readiness to help during this difficult time. They also urged the Indian community in Saudi Arabia to remain calm and listen to guidance from local authorities amidst the rising tensions. Residents are advised to stay safe, follow embassy updates, and reach out to the nearest Indian consulates if needed.
