Kuwait City: Ongoing attacks by Iran have led to the cancellation of various events across the Gulf region, including a ban on Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Kuwait. The country’s interior ministry announced that all plays, concerts, and weddings will be prohibited during the holiday until further notice.
Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is expected to be celebrated next week, but safety concerns have prompted this decision as tensions in the region escalate.
In response to Iran’s attacks, which have targeted both U.S. military assets and civilian areas, authorities in several Gulf countries have issued safety alerts. Residents are often advised to seek shelter during these attacks.
Qatar was among the first to respond to the crisis by suspending all public events, including gatherings for iftar, the evening meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan. The opening of the World Endurance Championship was also postponed due to the unsettling geopolitical situation in the region.
In Dubai, the popular tourist attraction Global Village has closed its doors, raising concerns about the planned Eid fireworks and other performances, including those at Dubai Opera, which have also been delayed.
