The final, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, saw India dominate New Zealand, winning by a substantial 96 runs. Despite the triumph, Manjrekar’s comments did not sit well with many fans. Some criticized the timing of his remarks, suggesting it was inappropriate to downplay the significance of a T20 victory right after such an achievement. Comedian Abijit Ganguly humorously pointed out that it felt like undermining a historic win.
