BEIJING: Five Generals Removed from Chinese Parliament
In a recent announcement, Chinese lawmakers have officially removed five generals from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from their positions in parliament. This decision was shared by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on Thursday.
Among those dismissed are Li Qiaoming, the former commander of the PLA Ground Force, and Shen Jinlong, who previously led the PLA Navy. Also removed are the political commissars of the PLA Navy, Air Force, and Information Support Force—Qing Shengxiang, Yu Zhongfu, and Li Wei.
This move highlights ongoing changes within China’s military leadership and governance structures.
