He was dismissed by Aryan Dutt in the very first over after India chose to bat first. This marked Abhishek’s fifth T20I duck this year, tying him with Sanju Samson for the most ducks by an Indian player in T20Is within a single calendar year. Despite facing just seven balls in this tournament, he is yet to register his first run.
HOW DUTT DISMISSED ABHISHEK
Dutt expertly set up Abhishek before delivering the crucial blow. He started with a slower delivery at 95.9 kph, which drifted towards the left-handed batsman, forcing him to play cautiously towards cover. The next delivery was quicker, and again, Abhishek was unable to capitalize, nudging it to cover-point without finding a rhythm.
Building on this uncertainty, Dutt delivered a quicker ball that skidded sharply off the pitch. Expecting a bit more bounce and width, Abhishek went for a pull shot. Unfortunately, the ball wasn’t short enough. It zipped past his bat and knocked the stumps over.
