Capgemini to Sell U.S. Subsidiary Amid Controversy

PARIS, Feb 1 (Reuters) – French tech giant Capgemini announced on Sunday that it is selling its U.S. branch, Capgemini Government Solutions.

The decision follows criticism over a contract the company signed with the U.S. immigration enforcement agency, ICE. This comes at a time when there have been increased protests against former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

In a statement, Capgemini noted that the legal restrictions linked to contracts with federal agencies made it difficult for them to manage certain operations of this subsidiary effectively. They expressed concern about aligning these operations with the broader goals of the company.
