PM Modi Highlights India’s Growth and Future Prospects Ahead of Budget Session

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media on Thursday, showcasing India’s robust growth and describing the start of the current quarter as “very positive.” He characterized India as “a ray of hope for the world today,” especially in light of recent developments.

As the country prepares for the 2026 Budget Session, PM Modi emphasized India’s rising global status. He pointed out the recent signing of the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a significant step toward realizing future potential.

“This quarter has begun on a very positive note. A self-assured India is becoming a center of attraction globally. The Free Trade Agreement with the EU reflects a bright future for our youth,” he stated.

The Prime Minister described the FTA as a “Free Trade for Ambitious India,” aiming to empower the country’s youth and bolster the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. He expressed optimism that Indian manufacturers would leverage this agreement to boost their capabilities and competitiveness.

“The FTA is a major step for a confident and productive India,” he added. “I am sure manufacturers will take full advantage of this opportunity.”

Turning to the upcoming Union Budget, Modi reassured that the government’s approach will continue to focus on reforms. He underscored the significance of the “reform, perform, and transform” agenda.

“It’s natural for the nation to focus on the Budget. We are on a ‘Reform Express,’ and I appreciate all MPs for their contributions to its momentum,” he noted. Modi assured that government decisions will remain human-centered, even as technology plays a larger role in addressing long-standing challenges.

He stated, “We are moving away from old issues and striving for lasting solutions. Our decisions prioritize the welfare of the people, and our use of technology will complement this human-centric approach.”

Reflecting on the first quarter of the 21st century, he stressed that the next 25 years are crucial for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. Modi recognized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her historic role in presenting the Budget for the ninth consecutive time.

“This marks an important moment in our Parliamentary history,” Modi concluded, as the country gears up for its next chapter in governance and economic development.
