Advance Auto Parts Welcomes New Director
Advance Auto Parts, Inc., a top provider of automotive parts in North America, has announced the appointment of Richard “Dick” A. Johnson as an independent director on its Board. This decision was made public on January 13th.
Gene Lee, chair of the board, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “Dick’s nearly 30 years of experience in retail and proven leadership make him an outstanding choice for our board.” He added, “We are excited to have him onboard and look forward to his valuable insights as we strive for greater success.”
Shane O’Kelly, the company’s president and CEO, elaborated on the company’s goals, mentioning that the strategic plan focuses on enhancing its market position as a dependable provider of auto parts. He emphasized, “With Dick’s extensive background in retail operations and customer service, our team will gain significant benefits as we work on our initiatives.”
Dick Johnson, in his remarks, acknowledged Advance Auto Parts’ impressive 94-year history and its strong brand presence in a growing industry. He stated, “I am eager to collaborate with the board to guide the execution of Advance’s strategic goals.”
Mr. Johnson brings a wealth of experience, having served as the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of Foot Locker, Inc. from 2014 to September 2022. He had a long tenure with the company, including various executive roles prior to his appointment as CEO.
Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board for H & R Block, Inc., and serves on the boards of Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. and Graebel Companies, Inc. Additionally, he is involved with the National Leadership Council at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.
This new addition to the board signals a positive step for Advance Auto Parts as it continues to navigate the evolving automotive market.
