Tilak Varma Shares Positive Recovery News After Surgery
Tilak Varma has reached out to his fans with an encouraging update about his recovery following surgery. The 23-year-old cricketer experienced severe testicular pain while playing for Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Rajkot, leading to his hospitalization and a successful surgery earlier this week. He was discharged from the hospital on Thursday morning and is reportedly recovering well.
Tilak is expected to return to Hyderabad on Friday. Once his symptoms improve and his surgical wound heals properly, he plans to start light physical training. As his recovery progresses, he will gradually move to skill-based training as part of his rehabilitation.
On Instagram, Tilak reassured his fans, saying, “Thank you for all the overwhelming love! I’m already on the road to recovery and will be back on the field sooner than you know it!”
Tilak Set to Miss First Three T20I Matches
According to recent medical evaluations, Tilak will be unavailable for the first three matches of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, starting January 21. His participation in the last two games will be assessed based on his recovery progress and readiness during his rehabilitation.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated, “He is ruled out of the first three T20Is against New Zealand. His availability for the remaining matches will depend on how he progresses during his training.”
If all goes well, Tilak could be fit in time to play in the fourth T20I against New Zealand on January 28 in Vizag. Last year, he showcased impressive form, scoring 567 runs in 20 matches at an average of 47.25, including a standout performance in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan, contributing to India’s victory.
Stay tuned for more updates on Tilak’s recovery and potential return to the field!
