The situation began to unfold on December 21 when Kim revealed that his son was taken to the hospital by ambulance due to a medical emergency. The tragedy comes at a time when flu cases are surging, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting a concerning increase in pediatric flu deaths this season. With 288 deaths recorded already, officials stress the importance of vaccination, particularly among younger children, who face the highest risks.
