Two Local Breweries in Rochester Set to Close

In a sad turn of events for beer lovers in the Rochester area, two prominent establishments are shutting down. Beers of the World and Fifth Frame Brewing Company will both be closing their doors permanently.

Beers of the World has announced that its Henrietta location will officially close on February 26. The decision comes as the company cites “changes in the economy and beer industry” as major factors. Starting January 4, the Henrietta store will adjust its hours and will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, while remaining closed on Sundays. The Batavia location will still remain open. This beloved business has been serving the community for over 40 years.

Meanwhile, Fifth Frame Brewing, found in Irondequoit close to the Port of Rochester, made its closure known through a heartfelt message on Facebook. They expressed that the decision was “incredibly difficult, but unavoidable.” Their message emphasized deep gratitude towards the Rochester community, saying, “We cannot thank the Rochester community, and our friends across the state & across the oceans enough for the support, business and relationships forged over the years.”

The brewery also expressed appreciation for the warm welcome it received from the Summerville community, stating, “We will miss being here.” They ended their post by urging locals to continue supporting small businesses and craft breweries in the area.

As these two beloved breweries close, the community will surely feel their absence.
