Zelenskyy Denies Claims of Ukraine Attacking Putin’s Residence
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed reports on Monday alleging that Ukraine attempted to strike Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence, labeling the claims as “complete fabrication.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had stated that Ukraine tried to target Putin’s home in Novgorod, northern Russia, and expressed that Moscow plans to retaliate.
Zelenskyy took to social media to refute these assertions, stating, “This alleged ‘residence strike’ story is a complete fabrication intended to justify additional attacks against Ukraine.” He emphasized that such claims are a part of “typical Russian lies.”
The president pointed out that Ukraine has been a target of Russian attacks in the past, including strikes on key buildings in Kyiv. He asserted, “Ukraine does not take steps that can undermine diplomacy. To the contrary, Russia always takes such steps.”
