As the festive season approaches, the competition for Christmas 2025’s top spot at the box office is heating up. Kartik Aaryan’s romantic comedy, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera, is squarely facing off against James Cameron’s much-anticipated film, Avatar: Fire and Ash. In an unexpected move, theater owners have decided to cut back on the number of screenings for Avatar: Fire and Ash by about 30% on Christmas Day, making way for Aaryan’s film.
Distributor Jio Star Studios, representing Avatar: Fire and Ash in India, has agreed to this decision due to significant pressure from the team behind Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera, which also stars Ananya Panday. The adjustments are already reflecting in independent cinema listings, allowing for a more prominent release of Aaryan’s film.
The demand for Tu Meri Main Tera is strong among younger audiences, making it an appealing choice for family outings during the holiday season. Sources suggest that this youthful appeal and festive timing could help Aaryan’s film achieve a solid opening, despite facing stiff competition.
On the other hand, Dhurandhar, another film in the running, remains unaffected in terms of show numbers, maintaining its original schedule as per commitments from its distributors.
The buzz around this Christmas showdown is certainly one to watch!
