PureTech Health Names Robert Lyne as New CEO

PureTech Health plc, a biotherapeutics company focused on advancing scientific innovations, has announced the appointment of Robert Lyne as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

In his first comments as CEO, Robert Lyne expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead PureTech during a pivotal time. He emphasized the impressive strength of the company’s programs and team. Lyne stated, “I’m eager to build on this foundation alongside the Board as we work to bring transformative therapies to patients and create long-term value for our shareholders.”

One of the company’s top priorities is to secure funding for its newest initiative, Celea Therapeutics. Following a successful meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the company expects to finalize this funding within the first half of 2026. This would significantly lower PureTech’s operational costs. Additionally, they are seeking further financing for Gallop Oncology, as promising data from its trials continues to develop.

Looking to the future, PureTech plans to streamline its operations and cut overhead costs. Lyne mentioned, “We will focus on innovation initiatives that can reach important milestones with careful spending to enhance our returns.” Once Celea is fully funded, the company will consider ways to provide value to shareholders, potentially including capital returns.

Sharon Barber-Lui, Interim Chair of the Board, praised Lyne’s leadership and strategic vision during his time as Interim CEO. She stated, “Rob’s insights into the business and stakeholders position us to sharpen our focus and optimize returns for shareholders.”

Lyne has been leading PureTech as Interim CEO since July 2025, having joined the company in January 2024 as Chief Portfolio Officer. He has a wealth of experience in life sciences and venture capital, having previously served as CEO of Arix Bioscience plc. With over a decade in senior leadership roles, he has a strong track record in governance, investment, and operational leadership.

This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for PureTech as it looks to advance its innovative therapies and enhance shareholder value.
