Farhan Akhtar’s ‘120 Bahadur’ Set for Release This Friday
Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated film, 120 Bahadur, is set to hit theaters this Friday, November 21. The film has generated buzz among viewers thanks to its engaging subject matter and relatable storytelling, as showcased in the trailer. In a unique approach, the film held paid previews across the country on Tuesday, November 18, breaking from the usual practice of previewing films the day before release.
According to a trade source, the film’s producers, Excel Entertainment, along with distributors AA Films, plan to implement a selective release strategy. They aim to screen 120 Bahadur primarily in theaters frequented by audiences who appreciate quality films. As a result, screenings in mass-oriented single screens and multiplexes in smaller towns may be minimal or entirely skipped.
The film is expected to be released in approximately 900 to 1,000 screens, with options to increase showings over the weekend if demand is strong. Notably, Mastiii 4, which is targeted at mass audiences, is also releasing on the same day, ensuring that the two films do not compete for the same viewership.
In a noteworthy development, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared 120 Bahadur without any cuts. This decision is particularly significant after some concerns arose when the film’s trailer altered certain dialogues. However, the final version will maintain its original dialogues. Additionally, the CBFC did not request any visual cuts, as the film’s action sequences are not excessively graphic. The final runtime is 137 minutes, or 2 hours and 17 minutes.
This release promises to offer an engaging cinematic experience, and many will be eager to see how it performs in theatres.
