Karisma Kapoor’s Children Launch Fresh Legal Bid Against Sunjay Kapur; Court Awaits Priya Sachdev’s Input

Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have taken their concerns to the Delhi High Court regarding the authenticity of their late father Sunjay Kapur’s will. This legal matter adds another layer to the ongoing dispute between the siblings and their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur.

In their recent application, Samaira and Kiaan are seeking permission to examine the original version of Sunjay Kapur’s alleged will, which was previously submitted to the court by Shradha Suri Marwah, the named executor. The siblings believe that the will presented by Priya is “forged and fabricated,” claiming it doesn’t accurately represent their father’s wishes. They feel that simply having a certified copy is insufficient for verifying signatures and other critical details.

During a court hearing on November 17, Joint Registrar Gagandeep Jindal issued notices to both Priya Sachdev Kapur and Shradha Suri Marwah, directing them to provide a response within three weeks. The case is set to be revisited on December 16.

Priya’s legal team has dismissed the children’s claims, calling them “bogus and baseless.” They previously argued that minor spelling errors in the document do not invalidate the will and that the signature has not been officially contested until now. However, the latest plea raises specific questions about the signature’s validity.

In addition to the will dispute, Samaira and Kiaan have filed another application to ensure that Priya does not transfer or change any assets belonging to their father while the legal proceedings are ongoing. The court will address this interim request on November 20.

Sunjay Kapur, a businessman and polo enthusiast, passed away in June in London while playing a match. He was married to Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016, and they have two children together—Samaira and Kiaan. He later married Priya Sachdev in 2017, with whom he shares a son.
