Breaking News: Explosion in Delhi Metro Area
Date: November 11, 2025
A tragic explosion occurred on Monday evening near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, claiming the lives of at least nine individuals and injuring several others. The cause of the blast has not yet been confirmed, but Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that authorities are investigating all possible leads.
Upon reviewing over 100 CCTV feeds, Delhi Police identified the vehicle involved in the explosion. The Hyundai i20 was first seen around 7:30 AM outside Asian Hospital in Faridabad before it crossed into Delhi through the Badarpur toll booth at about 8:13 AM.
In other news, the air quality in Delhi has dropped sharply, moving from ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’. On November 10, the Air Quality Index (AQI) registered at 362, but by 9 AM on November 11, it surged to 425. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has initiated the third phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in light of these concerning levels, attributing the deterioration to calm winds and unfavorable weather conditions.
