Peace Talks Stall Between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Ceasefire Remains Intact
Negotiations aimed at fostering peace between Pakistan and Afghanistan have come to a halt, despite a ceasefire still being in place, according to a spokesperson for the Taliban on Saturday.
Zabihullah Mujahid stated that discussions broke down because Pakistan demanded that Afghanistan take on responsibility for the internal security issues within Pakistan. Mujahid argued that this expectation is beyond what Afghanistan can manage.
He also noted, “The ceasefire is still holding, and we have not violated it. We will continue to uphold this agreement.”
