Elizabethtown Schools Enhance Safety with New Detection System
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Elizabethtown Independent Schools is making strides in safety by implementing a new weapons detection system. Starting after winter break, students will pass through the CEIA Opengate, a system similar to those used at airports and sports venues.
Before entering, students will need to take out items like Chromebooks and metal lunch boxes from their backpacks.
School officials pointed out that this system is just one aspect of a comprehensive safety strategy. Alongside this technology, the schools focus on prevention methods, building strong relationships, and other security initiatives.
