Capcom’s Resident Evil Remakes Continue to Shine
Capcom’s recent efforts to remake the Resident Evil series have been a big hit. Each remake has not only outperformed the original games but also secured a spot in the top ten best-sellers list for the company. Notably, the Resident Evil 2 Remake has become a standout success, ranking as the third best-selling game in Capcom’s history, with over 16 million copies sold.
In their latest earnings report, Capcom provided updated sales figures for several games. While sales for Monster Hunter Wilds have seen a significant decline, many of Capcom’s classic titles continue to do well.
In the first half of 2025 alone, the Resident Evil 2 Remake added 932,000 more sales, bringing its total to an impressive 16.3 million copies sold. This solidifies its position as the third best-selling game by Capcom.
While we await Capcom’s updated list of Platinum Titles—games that have sold over a million copies—it seems that Resident Evil 7 Biohazard has likely outdone Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, now holding the fourth spot with 15.93 million units sold.
Despite the immense popularity of the Monster Hunter series, the Resident Evil franchise remains a steady source of revenue for Capcom.
