SolarWinds Unveils AI Agent for Smoother IT Operations

SolarWinds has introduced the SolarWinds AI Agent, a new tool designed to enhance IT management by promoting autonomous operations. This AI-powered system aims to close the “resilience gap” in IT by predicting potential issues, automating responses, and acting as a helpful digital team member during incidents.

Features and Availability

The AI Agent comes with several tools to assist IT teams. One of its standout features is Root Cause Assist, which helps speed up troubleshooting by analyzing and presenting clear root causes of problems. Another valuable feature is Dynamic Threshold Enhancements, which minimize false alerts by extending automated thresholds. There is also an early preview of AI Query Assist that analyzes database queries and suggests improvements.

Looking ahead to 2026, SolarWinds plans to introduce additional features. These include AI Incident Correlation to group related incidents, AI Knowledge Base Generation to create articles from resolved issues, and Automated Runbook Execution to automatically manage standard procedures before human input is needed.

Key Benefits

The new AI Agent and its expanded features aim to shift IT teams from manual incident responses to more automated operations. This tool enables IT professionals to quickly resolve issues by summarizing outages, gathering diagnostics, and suggesting possible solutions. Users can even query system health and manage operations using simple, natural language commands.

This launch comes after a study showed that many IT leaders reported unexpected outages, highlighting the importance of smart systems that require less manual intervention. The SolarWinds AI Agent is built on principles of “AI by Design,” reinforcing the company’s commitment to secure and effective IT management.

In essence, the SolarWinds AI Agent serves as a digital support team, helping IT professionals respond more efficiently to incidents, manage system health, and streamline observability tasks directly through its user-friendly interface.
