Rain and Thunderstorm Expected in Kolkata: Orange Alert Issued
On October 10, heavy rain and thunderstorms swept through Kolkata, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for the city. This warning indicates that residents should be prepared for severe weather conditions, including possible disruptions.
In addition to Kolkata, the IMD has also placed North and South 24 Parganas, along with Purba and Paschim Medinipur districts, under a yellow alert for October 11. This alert suggests that these areas may experience moderate rainfall and strong winds.
Residents are advised to stay indoors during the severe weather and avoid unnecessary travel. Meanwhile, local authorities are on standby to manage any potential emergencies and provide assistance as needed.
Weather experts are closely monitoring the situation and recommend that everyone remain updated through reliable sources as conditions may change rapidly.
