India Aims for a Series Sweep Against West Indies in Second Test

India is gearing up to secure a 2-0 series victory over the West Indies as they prepare for the second Test match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10-14. The team, led by Shubman Gill, achieved a stunning victory in the opening match, winning by an innings and 140 runs.

In that first Test, players like KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja showcased their batting skills by scoring centuries. On the bowling side, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav shared the wickets, contributing significantly to the team’s success.

Despite the strong performance, there were a few concerns, particularly with Sai Sudharsan, who scored just 7 runs off 19 balls. However, assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate expressed that the team management fully supports the young batsman, giving him another chance in the upcoming match. Washington Sundar, who only had limited opportunities with the bat and ball, will also be given a chance to prove himself after taking two wickets and scoring an unbeaten 9 runs.

The management is debating whether to rest either Jasprit Bumrah or Mohammed Siraj to give Prasidh Krishna a chance to bowl on home turf. With a two-match Test series against South Africa scheduled for November, this could be a strategic decision.

India’s expected playing XI includes:

  • Yashasvi Jaiswal
  • KL Rahul
  • Sai Sudharsan
  • Shubman Gill (c)
  • Dhruv Jurel (WK)
  • Ravindra Jadeja (vc)
  • Nitish Reddy
  • Washington Sundar
  • Jasprit Bumrah/Prasidh Krishna
  • Kuldeep Yadav
  • Mohammed Siraj

The team looks stable, and changes are unlikely. Fans are eager to see if India can wrap up the series with another win.
