Bihar Voter Rolls Cleansed
India’s Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, announced that the voter list in Bihar has been cleaned up. This update includes the removal of foreign individuals, as well as those who have moved away permanently or have passed away. However, the exact number of foreigners removed was not disclosed. Kumar described the voter rolls as having been “purified”.

Trade Talks with the US
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that India is engaged in negotiations with the United States regarding trade. He stressed the importance of both sides respecting their boundaries and stated that they have yet to reach a conclusion on the trade discussions.

Sonam Wangchuk’s Case

In Kolkata, heavy rainfall and landslides have severely impacted areas in North Bengal, leading to a rise in the death toll to 23. Rescue operations are ongoing for those trapped in the affected zones.

Jaipur Hospital Fire
In Jaipur, a tragic fire at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital resulted in the death of six patients. Eyewitnesses reported that smoke spread quickly, causing panic among families and staff.

Cuttack Violence
Cuttack has seen fresh incidents of violence following a motorcycle rally aimed at showing support for a bandh called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Authorities have imposed a curfew in the area after unrest ensued.
