This updated pricing is crucial for Indian customers, considering that repair costs for smartphones, particularly in the premium category, have been on the rise. Apple’s clear list of repair prices covers common services like battery replacements, screen repairs, and fixes for accidental damages. Importantly, the company has emphasized the price differences for those who subscribe to AppleCare+ versus regular customers.
### Battery Replacement Costs
Battery replacement prices depend on the model. For the iPhone 17, the cost is Rs 9,800, while both the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Air will cost Rs 11,800 for a battery replacement. Customers with AppleCare+ can get a battery replacement for free if the battery is tested and found to retain less than 80% of its original capacity.
### Display and Back Glass Repairs
Replacing the screen is one of the priciest repair options for iPhone owners. Without AppleCare+, a display replacement costs Rs 32,900 for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Air, while the Pro Max variant is priced at Rs 38,900. If both the screen and back glass are damaged, it will cost Rs 40,500 for the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and Air, and Rs 46,800 for the Pro Max. However, AppleCare+ users benefit from a significantly lower fee of Rs 2,500 for either screen or back glass repairs and Rs 5,000 if both need fixing.
Replacing just the back glass will cost Rs 14,900 without AppleCare+, while those with the coverage only pay Rs 2,500.
### Camera Repairs
The cost for repairing the rear camera varies: it is Rs 16,900 for the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air, while it goes up to Rs 25,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. For AppleCare+ subscribers, the price is capped at Rs 8,900.
### Major or Accidental Damage
If there’s significant damage or an unclear issue, repair costs can skyrocket. The iPhone 17 will cost Rs 66,500, the iPhone Air Rs 81,900, and both the Pro and Pro Max models will be charged at Rs 89,900. For those with AppleCare+, a flat service charge of Rs 8,900 applies across the board, regardless of the model.
Apple has clarified that these prices only apply to customers without AppleCare+. They recommend the plan because it offers much lower service fees, making it a wise choice for anyone worried about accidental damage.
