Atlanta Hospital Fires Employee Over Social Media Post

ATLANTA – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has terminated an employee after a controversial social media post concerning conservative activist Charlie Kirk surfaced.

Several calls and emails to FOX 5 highlighted the incident, which involved the staff member making inappropriate comments on X (formerly Twitter) about Kirk following his unfortunate passing.

The hospital confirmed the employee’s dismissal but chose not to disclose their identity.

In a statement, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta expressed, “We are aware of inappropriate comments made on social media by an employee yesterday. This type of rhetoric is not acceptable for our staff and violates our social media policy. The employee has been terminated.”

In a broader context, Delta Airlines also announced suspensions of several employees related to comments on Kirk’s assassination. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reportedly told Pentagon staff to monitor comments regarding the incident from military personnel.

Charlie Kirk, aged 31, was shot and killed Wednesday at Utah Valley University. The FBI has since arrested a 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, in connection to the shooting.

This ongoing situation has raised concerns in various institutions about the appropriateness of employee comments on sensitive matters.
