ICC Announces Record Prize Pool for Women’s World Cup 2025
In a groundbreaking move, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled an unprecedented prize pool for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The tournament, set to take place in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2, will feature a prize fund of USD 13.88 million. This represents a remarkable 297 percent increase compared to previous editions.
Notably, this amount surpasses the prize pool of USD 10 million offered at the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup held in India in 2023 by USD 3.88 million.
“This announcement signifies a major milestone in the evolution of women’s cricket. The four-fold increase in prize money is a historic moment, showcasing our strong commitment to advancing the sport in the long run,” stated Jay Shah, the chairman of the ICC, on September 1.
