The romantic comedy Param Sundari is set to hit theaters this Friday, August 29, and there’s plenty of buzz surrounding its catchy songs, star cast, and engaging story. Recently, the team behind the film completed the censor review process, with some interesting results.
Fortunately, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not request any cuts to the film’s visuals. This is particularly noteworthy given that other films like Saiyaara and War 2 have faced visual edits in their past reviews. Many were concerned that the popular track ‘Bheegi Saree’ might be affected, but it has been spared any changes.
However, the CBFC did request some alterations in the dialogue. For example, they replaced the term ‘bastard’ with ‘idiot’ in the subtitles. Additionally, words such as ‘bloody’, ‘church’, and ‘father’ were muted and removed from the subtitles. Despite these changes, the song ‘Sun Mere Yaar Ve’ will still feature in the film’s end credits.
Following these adjustments, Param Sundari received a U/A 13+ rating from the CBFC. The total runtime of the film is 136 minutes, which translates to a little over 2 hours.
Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, Param Sundari is directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. With its release date just around the corner, fans are eager for what is being called one of the love stories of the year.
