India’s Economic Growth: A Promising Future Ahead
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s position as the world’s fastest-growing economy, emphasizing a decade of stable macroeconomic conditions. During his speech at the ET World Leaders Forum 2025 held in New Delhi, he noted that India’s fiscal health is improving, with a narrowing fiscal deficit and banks showing remarkable strength.
Modi stated, “India is on the verge of becoming the third-largest economy globally.” He shared insights from experts predicting that India will soon account for about 20% of global economic growth, driven by the resilience of the Indian economy over the past decade.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he added, “Our fiscal deficit is projected to decrease to 4.4%.” He praised the ongoing investment trend among domestic investors, who are pouring significant amounts into the market each month through systematic investment plans (SIPs).
The Prime Minister also touched on the importance of Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms, stating that upcoming changes would help lower prices and boost market demand, job creation, and overall ease of living and business operations.
In addition to economic aspects, Modi spoke about advancements in technology, the semiconductor industry, space exploration, employment opportunities, and defense production, underscoring a bright and optimistic future for India.
