Imran Khan recently shared a troubling experience from his early career in Bollywood, revealing how he faced script theft back in 2005. In a candid interview, the actor recalled feeling completely powerless during the incident.
Reflecting on that time, Imran stated, “I took my script to a channel, and it got stolen. I was just a 22-year-old kid at the time. The people there didn’t know my background; to them, I was just some kid off the street. Because of that, they felt they could easily take my work without consequences. It left me really upset and frustrated.”
At that point in his life, Imran was trying hard to make a name for himself in the film industry, spending months looking for a position as an assistant director. He met people in the production world, and one connected him to Abbas Tyrewala, who was looking for fresh talent for his film. Imran recognized Tyrewala’s previous work and felt excited to audition.
That film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, released in 2008, marked Imran’s debut and opened the door for his acting career.
This experience shines a light on the challenges many young creatives face, particularly when they lack recognition and support in a competitive industry.
