The excitement around the film Saiyaara is taking the nation by storm, turning Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into overnight stars. In a recent chat with director Mohit Suri, it was revealed that Ahaan was originally set to make his debut in a big project with YRF, which unfortunately did not go ahead. Suri shared that he spent four months working with Ahaan to help him appear more mature for his role.
Suri explained that Ahaan had been participating in acting workshops with YRF for seven years. Before the pandemic, a large-scale film was in the works. However, the landscape of cinema changed due to COVID-19, leading to the project’s cancellation. This left Ahaan feeling disheartened, especially as people began asking why his launch with YRF hadn’t happened.
Despite the setbacks, Aditya Chopra from YRF reassured Ahaan post-COVID that his faith in him remained strong, suggesting he could start his career elsewhere if needed. Ahaan, however, chose to hold out for his launch with YRF, a decision Suri praised as it allowed Ahaan to embrace a more significant debut.
The film Saiyaara tells the story of Krrish Kapoor, played by Ahaan, a struggling musician chasing fame. He crosses paths with Vaani Batra, played by Aneet, an aspiring journalist who becomes his lyricist. As their love blossoms, they face challenges that test their relationship, making the film a heartwarming tale that resonates with audiences. It has quickly become one of the highest-grossing love stories in Indian cinema.
