Modi’s visit to London will span two days, starting Wednesday, and includes discussions aimed at establishing a Free Trade Agreement. In his statements, he emphasized the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership shared between India and the UK, touching on areas like trade, investment, technology, defense, and education.
During his visit, Modi will meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and pay his respects to King Charles III. The goal is to boost economic growth and increase trade to $120 billion by 2030.
This is Modi’s fourth visit to the UK since 2015, following previous trips in 2015, 2018, and for COP26 in 2021. He and Starmer recently met at international gatherings such as the G20 in Rio and the G7 in Kananaskis.
India and the UK upgraded their relationship in 2021 by adopting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership status, demonstrating strong commitments to deepen their cooperation.
Next on Modi’s agenda will be a visit to the Maldives.
