Lok Sabha Speaker Calls for Cooperation as Monsoon Session Approaches
As the Monsoon Session of Parliament draws near, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has encouraged all political parties to minimize disruptions during House proceedings. Speaking at a conference for Urban Local Bodies, Birla emphasized the need to change past behaviors and stressed that voters are watching how political parties conduct themselves.
He noted that there has been some improvement in the level of disruptions in the 18th Lok Sabha, which began its first session in June of last year. “To strengthen democracy, it’s important that the Houses operate smoothly,” Birla stated.
His remarks highlight the ongoing effort to promote better functioning and cooperation in Parliament, reflecting a desire for a more constructive political atmosphere.
