In a momentous event at Vatican City, Hollywood icon Al Pacino and producer Manasvi Mamgai met with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. This historic meeting marks the beginning of their upcoming film, Captivated, which is being produced by 32RED Entertainment and is currently filming in Rome.
This occasion is noteworthy for several reasons. Al Pacino, celebrated for his roles in classics like The Godfather, made history by being the first film star to be officially welcomed by Pope Leo XIV. Additionally, this was Pacino’s first encounter with a Pope. For Manasvi Mamgai, co-founder of 32RED Entertainment, this meeting was a defining moment as one of the few Indian-origin producers to receive such an audience.
Reflecting on the experience, Mamgai shared, “Meeting His Holiness, the Pope, was a dream come true. Standing alongside Al Pacino in such a meaningful moment felt incredible. There’s no better way to kick off a film than with the Pope’s blessings.”
Captivated, directed by Dito Montiel, is a gripping thriller based on real events. The story revolves around Saro, a mafia boss from Calabria, who kidnaps the grandson of billionaire Jean Paul Getty. As the tension rises, Saro unexpectedly connects with the boy’s mother, Abigail Harris, jeopardizing everything he has built.
The film is a significant endeavor for 32RED Entertainment, a studio based in Los Angeles and Mumbai, established in 2021 by Mamgai and Michael Mammoliti. With Captivated, they aim to deliver bold storytelling that resonates globally. Filming is in progress, with a release anticipated in 2025.
With its powerful storyline, a legendary actor in the lead, and the Pope’s blessing, Captivated promises an engaging cinematic experience filled with both emotion and suspense.
