Air India Plane Crash Claims Lives of All on Board

A tragic plane crash occurred shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, a city in western India, on Thursday. The Air India flight, which was headed to London, had 242 people on board, and reports indicate that there were no survivors.

The news has sent shockwaves around the world, prompting leaders to express their condolences.

Prime Minister Modi Reflects on the Tragedy

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his heartfelt sorrow on social media, stating, “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words.” He added that he is in contact with officials working to support those affected by this disaster.

International Leaders Offer Their Support

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer referred to the event as devastating, especially noting that many British nationals were among those on the flight. He expressed his condolences to the families during this distressing time.

King Charles of Britain also shared his shock, stating, “My wife and I have been deeply shocked by the terrible events in Ahmedabad.” He extended his sympathy to the families awaiting news of their loved ones.

In a message to Modi, Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor of Bangladesh, said, “We extend our deepest condolences to all families who lost their dear ones in this tragic incident.” He emphasized solidarity with India during this time.

Expressions of Sympathy from Global Leaders

European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen conveyed her deepest condolences and emphasized that Europe stands with India in sorrow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message expressing his sympathies and asked Modi to convey support to the victims’ families and wishes for a swift recovery to those injured.

French President Emmanuel Macron shared his heartfelt thoughts as well, stating he was deeply moved by the tragedy.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the crash as absolutely devastating and assured that Australia is closely monitoring the developments.

Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin expressed his thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families.

Industry Reaction

Amy Leversidge, the general secretary of the British Airline Pilots’ Association, voiced the sorrow felt by pilots worldwide. She emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to prevent future tragedies.

The loss from this incident has touched hearts globally, and many are coming together in support of those affected.
