Fury Erupts as Business Class Mom Seats Kids in Separate Cabin

A travel expert recently shared an eye-opening experience she had while working in the travel industry. Helen McPherson, known on TikTok as @helsmcp, recounted the time she saw a mother booking herself into Business Class for a flight, leaving her children in Economy.

In her TikTok video, McPherson described how she was helping a client who wanted to make some changes to her flight booking. What stood out was that the mother and her husband were booked in the most luxurious seats, while their two kids—one of whom was a baby—were situated in Economy class. The children were also accompanied by their childminder, who was seated next to them in Economy.

Not wanting to be rude, McPherson gently pointed out the mismatch in seating arrangements. “I noticed that your children are in a different class than you,” she explained. However, the mother swiftly brushed off her concern, insisting that McPherson proceed with the booking as planned. “I want her added on to the children,” she said, referring to the childminder.

When McPherson clarified that the children were in Standard Class while she was in Business Premier, the mother responded nonchalantly, “Yes, and?” and urged her to continue with the booking.

McPherson expressed her disbelief at the interaction and asked her followers for their thoughts, wondering if others found the situation as shocking as she did. The video sparked a wave of reactions from viewers. Many parents were outraged, with one commenter questioning why anyone would have kids if they planned to leave them in Economy.

Interestingly, not everyone felt the same. Some viewers humorously suggested that they would send their kids on separate flights if they had to, while others defended the mother, saying she was being considerate of the Business Class passengers by keeping the kids away from them.

One viewer even noted, “Nothing worse than kids (or babies) in business; they often ruin the experience for everyone.” Another chimed in, suggesting that it was not anyone’s business to judge, arguing that tired parents deserve a break during their travels.
