John Abraham recently launched the graphic novel titled Lakadbaggha: The Prologue. Written by actor and filmmaker Anshuman Jha, and illustrated by American comic artist Brittain Peck, this novel is inspired by the film Lakadbaggha (2023), where Anshuman takes on the role of an animal vigilante. The event also saw the presence of Ridhi Dogra, who appeared in the film.
During the launch, John shared exciting news about his future projects. He said, “Interestingly, my director has created a comic book named ‘Munkeeman’. We are currently working on a film based on it. The director, Abhishek Sharma, is someone I previously collaborated with on Parmanu (2018). He’s incredibly smart, and the subject is fascinating. My love for animals is why this film is happening.”
Munkeeman was originally launched in 2012, drawing inspiration from a mysterious incident that stirred panic in Delhi that year. According to its synopsis, "In the summer of 2001, a strange creature caused chaos in Delhi. Its identity was unknown until it suddenly disappeared, only to resurface today as Munkeeman, who wants to prove he’s not a monster, but an authentic superhero of India." Abhishek Sharma has also directed other notable films like Tere Bin Laden (2010) and Ram Setu (2022).
Additionally, John drew attention with his striking new mustache. When a reporter inquired whether this was his look for the Rakesh Maria biopic, he confirmed it with a “yes." Though he was asked about his experience working on the film, he chose to keep his comments brief, stating, “Very good.” This biopic is directed by the renowned Rohit Shetty.
