Vietnam Airlines and FPT Team Up for Digital Transformation
Vietnam Airlines has joined forces with FPT, a leading global technology company, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration aims to enhance digital transformation across the airline, improving both operational efficiency and customer experience.
The agreement includes plans for both companies to work together on a range of innovative technology solutions. These solutions will encompass areas like Generative AI, Cloud Computing, Big Data, and Blockchain, all designed to improve operations and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers.
As a part of its digital journey, Vietnam Airlines is kicking off a new e-commerce platform. This initiative is expected to provide customers with a more personalized experience while broadening the airline’s services and increasing additional revenue opportunities.
The partnership will also focus on integrating AI technologies to improve customer interactions, automate content, and develop tools such as chatbots and mobile e-commerce applications. Both companies will create a robust digital infrastructure to support these innovations.
Vietnam Airlines and FPT will invest jointly in these technology initiatives, co-own any newly developed intellectual property, and share revenue generated from these advancements in aviation operations, with ambitions to extend their reach into international markets.
To further improve customer service, the collaboration will connect Vietnam Airlines’ loyalty program with FPT’s offerings. This means that customers will soon be able to use their mileage points for rewards across FPT’s educational and retail networks.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of Vietnam Airlines, emphasized that this digital shift is crucial for enhancing the airline’s competitive edge. He believes that partnering with FPT will significantly expedite their digital goals, positioning the airline as a leader in the Asia-Pacific region by 2030.
Dr. Truong Gia Binh, Founder of FPT, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering business growth through innovation. He expressed optimism that their collaboration would accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies.
FPT’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Vu Anh Tu, outlined five strategic initiatives aimed at making Vietnam Airlines a digital leader. These include establishing an AI Innovation Lab and modernizing cloud infrastructure to deliver tailored customer experiences.
The partnership between Vietnam Airlines and FPT is rooted in a long history, dating back to the 1990s. FPT has consistently supported the airline’s technological evolution and successfully organized several key events, including the first IATA World Safety and Operations Conference in Vietnam.
Through this collaboration, Vietnam Airlines is reaffirming its dedication to innovation and sustainable growth, aligned with the country’s national development goals concerning science and technology.
