Dahaad Returns for Season 2
The popular crime thriller, Dahaad, featuring Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, and Vijay Varma, is set to return with a second season. According to reports, the production team is currently working on the script for the upcoming episodes. A source revealed that Prime Video aims to expand on the success of the first season, which received wide acclaim. The team is in the early stages of production and will define a shooting schedule soon.
In light of this news, both Sonakshi and Gulshan took to their Instagram stories to share their excitement. Sonakshi expressed her enthusiasm by posting the announcement and said, “Finally!!! Can’t wait to get back in that uniform,” while tagging the show’s creators, Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. Gulshan humorously added, “Now… where did I keep that uniform?” accompanied by thinking emojis.
Dahaad, created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, tells the gripping story of two police officers, portrayed by Sonakshi and Gulshan, who investigate the mysterious disappearance of 27 women in Rajasthan. The series premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 12, 2023, and draws inspiration from the real-life crimes of Mohan Kumar, also known as Cyanide Mohan.
The show not only featured Vijay Varma as the central villain but also included Sohum Shah in a key role. It made a significant mark by being the first Indian web series to debut at the Berlin International Film Festival, competing for the Berlinale Series Award.
