Quantinuum Partners with Al Rabban Capital for $1 Billion Quantum Computing Venture

Quantinuum, a leading name in quantum computing, has announced an exciting new partnership with Qatari firm Al Rabban Capital. They are kicking off a joint venture worth $1 billion (£753 million) aimed at expanding quantum technology in the Middle East.

The venture will have its headquarters in both Cambridge and the United States. The goal is to promote the use of quantum computing while establishing Quantinuum as a key player in this rapidly growing field.

This collaboration will focus on developing technologies that meet regional needs, especially in sectors like new energy, genomics, financial services, and also in training the next generation of Qatari quantum developers.

“This joint venture reflects our mutual goal of leading in innovative technologies,” stated Dr. Rajeeb Hazra, president and CEO of Quantinuum. He added, “Together with Al Rabban Capital, we aim to push for greater commercial use of quantum computing in Qatar and the broader region while supporting both U.S. and Qatari strategic interests.”

This agreement builds on Quantinuum’s earlier partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the Qatar Centre for Quantum Computing.

Abdulaziz Khalid Al Rabban, Chairman of Al Rabban Capital, remarked, “This is a pivotal moment for Qatar as it strives to become a key hub for advanced technologies such as quantum computing. Partnering with Quantinuum allows us to provide top-tier quantum solutions that will boost economic growth in Qatar and beyond.”

With a valuation exceeding $5 billion (£3.7 billion), Quantinuum boasts the most advanced quantum computing technology available today. This company was established as a collaboration between Cambridge Quantum and Honeywell Quantum Solutions, and it has been at the forefront of developing quantum-powered generative AI technology.
