Emotional Farewell: Fans Plead with Virat Kohli at Mumbai Airport

An emotional scene unfolded at Mumbai Airport as a devoted fan approached cricket star Virat Kohli, urging him to rethink his decision to retire from Test cricket. Kohli, who was accompanied by his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, was navigating through a throng of photographers and fans eager for a glimpse of the cricket icon.

One particular fan expressed his disappointment, saying, "Sir, you did wrong, why did you retire? Now we won’t watch cricket anymore." Another fan chimed in, saying, "I only watched Test matches because of you."

Kohli, maintaining his usual charm and humility, acknowledged the fans’ emotions while asking them to clear a path. When a request for a quick photo came his way, he smiled and replied, "I’m in a hurry now, but I promise, next time."

Even as he left in his car, fans continued to voice their feelings. One exclaimed, "We won’t watch cricket anymore. We watched it for you." Kohli responded with a reassuring thumbs-up and a smile, responding to another hopeful fan who said, "We’ll wait for you in ODIs. This time, RCB will win."

Just a day after this surprising announcement, Kohli and Anushka were seen visiting Vrindavan, seeking blessings from spiritual figure Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj. A video shared by the saint’s followers showed the couple in a reflective moment, where Kohli was asked if he felt happy—a simple yet profound question in light of his recent decision.

Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket, following Rohit Sharma’s own recent announcement, signals the end of a significant chapter in Indian cricket. Renowned for his passion and consistency, Kohli has been a pivotal figure in the resurgence of red-ball cricket in India.

As fans come to terms with this change, they cherish the memories of Kohli’s explosive performances and hope for his continued presence in the cricketing world.
