Ancelotti Reflects on Unforgettable Time at Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti is filled with pride as he looks back on his four years at Real Madrid, calling the experience "unforgettable." As he gets ready to lead Brazil, the five-time World Cup champions, he emphasized that he will leave the Spanish capital with many cherished memories.
At a press conference before a LaLiga match against Mallorca, Ancelotti said, "These have been some unforgettable years that I will keep close to my heart." With Brazil’s football federation confirming his new role, the spotlight has shifted from Real Madrid’s immediate future.
"Life is full of adventures that eventually come to an end. I always knew my time here would finish one day," he noted. "This has been a great period, but just like everything in life, it must come to a close."
He expressed his desire to finish the season on a high note before taking on his new challenge with Brazil on May 26. "I’ve enjoyed my time here, and I want to end it well. Then, on the 26th, I will talk about the new adventure ahead," he said.
Even though Real Madrid has yet to make an official statement about his departure, Ancelotti assured fans that there are no issues between him and the club. "Real will announce things in their own time, but I have never had a problem with this club, and I never will. Real holds a special place in my heart, but every journey has its end."
Despite his impressive record, this season is looking likely to wrap up without any trophies. Madrid trails behind Barcelona in the LaLiga standings, and a defeat against Mallorca might hand the title to their rivals.
Yet, Ancelotti maintains a positive outlook. "If someone had told me I would win 11 titles in four years upon my arrival, I would have accepted that gladly. This season has had its challenges, but my time here has been incredible."
Madrid is expected to officially announce Ancelotti’s departure before their last game of the season against Real Sociedad on May 25. Former Real Madrid player Xabi Alonso, now managing Bayer Leverkusen, is the frontrunner to take over.
"I’m very fond of Alonso. He has all the skills to be a great coach, and I don’t feel the need to give him advice," Ancelotti said.
With a legacy filled with Champions League and domestic victories, Ancelotti leaves with a heart full of gratitude. "I can’t be the Madrid coach forever. Change is necessary, and it’s all part of life. I’m thankful to this club and will always support it. It’s the end of an era, and I never imagined I would coach Madrid for six years."
As he prepares for his next adventure, Ancelotti looks back fondly at his time with Real Madrid, carrying with him unforgettable memories and experiences.
